Transfer to your lodge in Arusha, where you’ll settle in and enjoy a relaxed evening. An orientation session with your guide will introduce you to Maasai culture and the safari itinerary. Your first night is spent at Shamba Tree lodge, Kimandafu Eco Lodge, or a similar accommodation, with dinner included.
  • Day 2: Arusha – Longido Village (Cultural Immersion) - After breakfast, depart for Longido, a Maasai village nestled in the shadow of Longido Mountain, about 1.5 hours from Arusha. Upon arrival, immerse yourself in Maasai culture with a traditional dance performed by warriors and women. Visit a Maasai boma (homestead) and engage in storytelling sessions about Maasai history and customs. Join the women in crafting beadwork, creating your own Maasai jewelry souvenir. Along the way, visit Maasai villages and hear ancestral tales about their ties to the land. Arrive at Lake Natron and settle into your camp, where you’ll take a guided walk to the shores of the alkaline lake, home to millions of flamingos. Observe the striking contrast between the lake’s vivid red hue and the surrounding arid landscape. As the day ends, witness a spectacular sunset over the lake and enjoy an intimate dinner under the stars, with views of Ol Doinyo Lengai, the Maasai’s sacred volcanic mountain. Participate in a mock "adumu" (jumping dance) challenge with Maasai warriors. In the evening, join a Maasai elder-led session on their spiritual connection to Ol Doinyo Lengai. For the adventurous, an optional night trek offers a closer view of the volcanic activity (weather permitting). Overnight at Lake Natron Tented Camp or similar.
  • Day 5: Lake Natron – Northern Serengeti (Kogatende) - After breakfast, embark on a scenic 6–7 hour drive to the Northern Serengeti, stopping at remote Maasai villages en route to learn about the challenges of balancing tradition and modernity.
